SEO PSA | Quick Tip

I just learned about ALT TEXT a few months ago and I thought most of you already knew it.   But I just learned from one of my favorite groups that this is not the case.  So I'm going to share with you a super short blog and get back to enjoying my family.  

Most photography websites are full of gorgeous photographs and not very much text, which is awesome but not practical for google to know what your page is about.  So most sites - html, blogger, wordpress etc allow you to add alt text to your images.   This will help you move up in SEO ratings.  I'm not an SEO expert, but it helped my ratings improve dramatically.  

This site is a blogger site, so its easy to do.  Click on properties and change your alt text to your search keywords.

My wordpress site is just as easy, click on media library and click on each photograph and change alt text to your search engine keywords.  Mine happen to be Hilton Head Photographer.  

Now add ALT TEXT to every one of your images, please and thank you!
